Women's Historic Fashions Appear in Modern World

Fashion has a way of repeating itself, more than one might think. There is more to fashion than just what is hot and new and trendy today; a lot of times those trends reflect women's historic fashions that were in style hundreds, sometimes even thousands of years ago.

One example of a historic fashion that has resurfaced today is the string of pearls with a satin bow attached. Women everywhere are purchasing this style of jewelry to keep up with the times. Little do they know that this style was featured in the 1600's.

As for the top designers, some of their logos reflect ancient history past as well. Take Versace, for example. That famous Versace logo can be compared to a Medusa head, which dates back to ancient Greek times.

Animal skins are clearly an uglier part of the fashion world that takes root in ancient times. It is still considered a sign of the upper class to wear shoes, coats, and jewelry made from the hair, skin, and bone of various and sometimes exotic creatures.

If you really put your mind to it, you can come up with lots of historic influences on modern women's fashion, from turquoise of the Native Americans to eyeliner and perfume of ancient Egyptians. History can make fashion a little fun and a lot more meaningful.
